an excerpt, by Em Claire

‎"The earth waits for our eyes. A hawk, for the dawn. A child, for the lap. The heart, for presence. Mystery waits for our parting. Lust, for our reunion. Hunger, for one taste of you. Grief, a reason to break. I wait for Anything that reminds me of you - too thirsty now, even to drink." ('Too Thirsty Now', Em Claire)

  1. Lovely words! I like "...too thirsty now, even to drink."

That is spiritual...to actually THIRST for another.

This is (not to sound blasphemous) almost like Jesus said, when on the cross hanging--"I thirst." They thought he wanted a drink, so they pushed one up on a sponge.

But He thirsted not for liquid, but for SOULS to change...for mankind!

Pardon the religious-sounding flavor here, it was the closest analogy I could conjure.
